Aid effectiveness concerns hit the mark. So what next?

What A Week!

What A Week!

Do you remember these words? "Poverty of course is a crime. Poverty is a discrimination. Poverty is worse than racism. Poverty is a social injustice. Poverty is a prison. Poverty is a destruction of human dignity. Poverty is a condemnation to death. I dream of that time when poverty is ended and I know it will be during my lifetime!"

The WA Flashmob - Ladyhawke style

So one massive week later, the Roadtrip is over. But before we start to break down the week ands give our view on how everything went, there are a few other things we'd like to show you guys.

The Summit: Day 1

The Summit: Day 1

We're nearing the end of one massive week. A massive week of campaigning, a week full of, well lets face it, not much sleep at all. And a week full of the full array of emotions. And with the final hours upon us, the first day of the Summit was amazing.

DAY 4: VIC

VICTORIAN ROADTRIP 1

Tuesday was the final day on the ground in local communities, and VIC Roadtrip 1 kicked it off with an energetic aerobics session. Our groups then split on our way towards Bendigo – a whole new community waiting to be reached and engaged.

While one group cooked up a storm in Daylesford, others spread throughout Bendigo – converging at Latrobe Uni, the CBD and many suburbs in between.

DAY 3: WA

Most of Western Australia's day was taken up by the 5 hour flight from Perth to Sydney. However they still managed to fit in some campaigning, doing a flash mob in Perth Airport, and then convincing the Head Hostess on the plane to make an announcement about the campaign, and hand the Act To End Poverty round all the passengers for them to sign!

After such a long day of travel they had a laid back night, with time for group bonding as well as heading out to check out some of the Sydney shops down Oxford St in Paddington and doin some good'ol data entry for the Act!

DAY 3: ACT

Having stayed overnight at Batemans Bay High School, the ACT Roadtrippers were split into two groups; with some doing modules with year 11 and 12 students and the other group decorating the buses (and competing against each other for the best looking bus!!). They headed out to do some door knocking and street campaigning in the Batemans Bay area, before chilling on the foreshore for lunch.
